- 4 oz Baker’s German’s Sweet Chocolate
- ½ cup boiling water
- 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs (separated)

- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk (room temperature)

- 3 egg yolks

- 1 ½ cups sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans

Prepare the Chocolate Mixture:
- Break the Baker’s German’s Sweet Chocolate into pieces.
- Melt with ½ cup of boiling water, stirring until smooth. Set aside to cool.
Make the Cake Batter:

- Add the egg yolks, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk.

Bake the Cake:
